Summer Life

After the fact, we realized how much these photographs remind us of an Urban Outfitters catalog. From the outfits to the scenery, but most of all the free and full of life summer feelings that these photos bring about.

Bunnie Bee Jewelry, custom designs

We had the pleasure of making pieces for three sisters the other month. We tried to keep them similar to avoid any fighting, but also age appropriate.

For the six year old. Fun fact, we also made a matching necklace for her American Girl doll.
For the ten year old.
For the 13 year old.

Simple and beautiful little cluster of our signature items, pearls and crystals.

Easy, Breezy, & Bold!

Lets face it, some days we may not be in the mood to heavily accessorize. A scarf, hat, sweater, or jewelry can be such a fuss when it is one of those simple and easy feeling days. While still sticking to our  creative and stylish roots, we have achieved a very easy and simple look that is still fashionable and stands out in a crowd because of the fun and bold colors!

Some bright royal blue shoes add a touch of extra color, while the cork clutch keeps things simple.

Still feeling metallic inspired some silver nail polish and pink color blocking is just enough to offset the gray and black.

(Bunnie vs. Bee) Watch out!

The Bunnie:
I've had a Michael Kors watch (or 2 or 3) on my wish list for years.

The Bee:
Michele watches are just beautiful! And that is all that needs to be said.

Midas touch

We both came dressed for work feeling a little golden today. Adding some metallic to an outfit can add a nice shimmer in the Miami sunlight when it's not overdone.

The bee had a gold necklace, some golden blue shorts and some new gold rubber flats from J. Crew.

Our completely unplanned matching gold bows!

I felt inspired by a new golden Forever 21 tank and paired it with my Betsey Johnson earrings I got for my birthday.

Bunnie Bee Jewelry to the rescue

Last month we had the pleasure of solving a 30 year old problem. Catharine, my boys old coworker, approached us with a box full of her grandmothers jewelry that she had saved since her passing in the 70's. Although she had kept everything, none of it was actually wearable. Pieces were missing, links were broken, things had rusted, etc. Her sons college graduation was coming up and she decided she wanted us to make her a necklace incorporating this old jewelry in order to have her family there in spirit for the event.

We were able to create something using all of her own materials, even her grandfathers pocket watch!

We incorporated all the elements she wanted to have in there, including the fact that the watch is removable in case her brother wants it back!

Catharine was a pleasure to have as a client, and we're thrilled that she plans on surprising her sister with a custom piece of her own in the future.

PS: Apologies on the horrible quality of the pictures. We weren't able to snag a good shot of it before giving it to her.

A Place for Thoughts

We stumbled upon this peaceful place during a photo shoot for Bunnie Bee's first Look Book. (As seen here) Ever since then we come back back to this dilapidated dock whether it be for photos, brainstorming, or to just sit and relax. The refreshing breeze that is always present makes us treasure this place even more during hot Miami summers.

Summer lovin'

Summer is right around the corner, and it's blazing hot. Gone are the days of getting away with wearing boots, or accessorizing with light scarves. We've said our goodbyes. My sweaters and jackets are being pushed to the back of the closet, see ya in 6 months!

It's that time of year where you see skin, lots of it. But it's important to not look like you're vacationing on the beach. It's hard when it gets so hot that you can't layer, and you'll start to sweat before you even leave your house. Since it's not socially appropriate to go through your day in a bathing suit, here are some go to looks that keep us from overheating, while still looking cute.

I have a bunch of over sized, looseygoosey black tanks with different details that keep them each a little different. This one has a front pocket, and the straps crisscross in the back.

The Bee just picked up this light crocheted white top, the holes are large enough that air can circulate, but it's still conservative and doesn't show too much skin underneath.

(Spoiled Sunday) Summer bottoms

The Bunnie:
It's really hot. There was a buy one get one half off sale. I couldn't resist. I spoiled myself to some black shorts from Express.

The Bee:
After repeatedly looking through the racks at Forever 21and not finding anything new and exciting I decided to stick to what I know. This linen and scalloped edged skirt in orange already lives in my closet so why not own it in a easily matchable color too!

Nice day for a walk

We wandered through Margaret's neighborhood for a little stroll and came across this adorable house with a white picket fence.  I was a bit apprehensive about going on someone's property..Margi, however, was ready to go on in!

Sometimes you're in a hurry and it's hot outside, and it just becomes one of those days to quickly throw on a dress, and call it a day. A dress is a great way to get dressed and look put together without having to think about it too much. There's no worrying about coordinating a top and a bottom. There's no matching, or mismatching. Just easy breezy, pull it over your head and you're done in one easy swoop.

I like dresses that look like separates, but onlookers be fooled! Tis a simple dress!

If your dress is a solid piece, and you want to break it up a little bit, adding a belt almost always works.

Boy Writes Miami

This is the [half] face of the boy, Orlando, from Boy Writes Miami. His website is a vulgar and hilarious take on Miami hot spots.  Whether you just want a laugh, or maybe you want to check what his review is of a place before going, BWM is an indispensable review website for locals. Go and check him out, maybe you'll plan that Miami trip sooner than expected!

A Simple Start to the Week

Every fashionista has their casual days. For a comfortable outfit, stick to your favorites, whether it be a pair of incredibly comfortable Toms or a sheer and breezy top. Possibly the best part about these photos is that the red flowers that have fallen to the ground from the Royal Poinciana tree match the intricate flower details on Marion's T and my punchy red polish!
